Top Tips for Condom Use
Using a condom is easy but we have a few do's and don'ts to help make sure you get it right.
Do check for the British Standards Kitemark.
Do check for the expiry date - out of date condoms may be less reliable.
Do inspect the condom for damage before using.
Do use water based lubricants with condoms to make sex more comfortable.
Do use a new condom if you accidentally put it on inside out.
Do use a different condom between oral sex and penetrative sex.
Do use the correct size condom. Wearing the wrong size can cause the condom to slip off or tear during sex.
Do use a non-latex condom if you or your partner have a latex allergy.
Don't use more than one comdom at a time - this actually makes them less effective.
Don'tuse the same condom more than once.
Don't use oil based lubricants with condoms. This includes baby oil, and Vaseline.
Don't use your teeth to open the condom packet. Be careful not to damage the condom with fingernails or piercings.
Don't flush the condom down the toilet. It may block the toilet or reappear hours later.
